Jambo contacted kami and asked him what he wanted to do with the KF server. He asked kami to tell him who is to take over the server and kami said let it die (basically that's what I was told).

From what I am told someone needs to pick it up and start to pay for it so on and so forth.. Do u have anyone in the clan willing to do that?

Well, no, thats why I made that decision. This was mentioned months ago

if you do decide to have a dedi kf server i would recommend to hire a new one at 540hosting,
and maybe a ts server at the same time.

this would ensure both a kf and ts in case my server goes tits up.

You guys should vote on it.. If Koen's servers do go down and people can not get on the morbid servers they will go else where to play and you will lose your popularity and then the servers will be empty.

Well, no, if someone wants to do it, they can do it. But I dont think it is about anymore tbh. Imo its easier to just get a new one with a TS server, as Koen mentioned

I don't really see how this is even an issue (getting / paying for a new server) as I do not see us having the monetary muscle to even think about committing to a new GSP. Also I think our popularity with strangers should be secondary.

How many of us actually play KF enough each day to justify the expense and how many of those people would be willing to commit to paying for it?

And how much of a strain are we putting on Koen (traffic, hardware, etc.). Do we need to start thinking about compensation for Koen?

So the clan needs to figure out what we want and match that to what we can afford before we can vote on anything.

I think it was suggested a while back that we subsidise Koen's love of servers and interweb usage in return for the server usage. Just depends on what he wants

well after discussing the issue last night,think it is best to leave
the server and stay with koens,think that is the best salution

As i mentioned a long time ago, I might start charging when i get fiber.
those charges will only be cost related not for profit.


so i would only be charging the actual costs of running the server: Power / Internet.
and possibly ill charge 5 or 10% extra to build up a small buffer to go towards hardware repair cost.


and again its a might:
power wont be needed until my parents says im using to much.
and internet will only be needed when the 30/30 connection im getting is no longer sufficient.
upgrade to the next level (60/60) would cost 10 euro per month.
this would be a must for most mod servers where users download the map and mod of the gameserver
