Road Trip Update

Hi All,

Well we some how managed to log 460 miles today, dispite my wife's forgetfulness and a return to home to turn off the heat at our house. So we are in Clearfield Pennsylvania otherwise known as bum-fuck-egypt. I plan on going over 600 miles tomorrow. See ya all soon.

Well, today went a lot better than yesterday. We were on the road by 0745 and racked up 750 miles. So, we are a little shy of half way there....

Also sorry for not responding on Xfire this morning... I was having lunch (it was noon here)

We managed to make it through 2 states (Iowa and Nebraska) and a total milage of 745 miles. We are staying in Cheyenne Wyoming where men are men and the sheep are terrorified,,,lol. See you guys soon.

You gotta stop posting these roadtrips Pete... I'm itchy about taking one myself... Might suggest the wife we need to go to America with our last savings...

Lol yeah 745 miles, that'd be like driving up to the very end of Scotland from where I am (which is at the opposited end of Britain). Cheyenne sounds a bit like Wales

We made to our friends house in Idaho Tuesday night around 8:00 pm mst (mountain standard time). We put a bid on a real nice house that is turn key ready to move in. I only hope I bid high enough. We are going around looking at more prospects today just in case we dont get the bid on that house. So, we arrived in good health, I averaged 14.7 miles per gallon, and averaged 85 mph for the entire 2700 mile trip. I cant get on the internet at my friends house because they do not have an internet connection. I have to drive into town to a coffee house or to our realator's office to use the internet. So, daily updates are out for now. See you all soon.

They heard of the internet, it's just that cable hasn't reached their house yet. The cable company has pulled cable almost to their house (it's just a 1/4 mile from their house). We put in an offer on a house ($89,000) that has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, kitchen, den, dining room, and living room. The lot is completely fenced in and has a 2 car garage. Most IMPORTANT cable has been run to the house and as soon as I get the house the cable company (Cable 1) will turn it on... So, I'll be able to chat will all my friends again.

Well, we have made an offer on a house and the owner has accepted that offer. Now I am waiting for an appraiser to appraise the house to see if it is appraised the same as the selling price (so that the Veteran's Administration can approve the loan amount). If all that goes well I will perform a complimentary closing (like an absentee ballot) so that I do not have to drive back for a one day closing. Then it is pack and move time......

And what's on everybody else's mind... WHEN ARE YOU COMING BACK??? (and have you updated WOT to 7.2 yet?)

The saga goes on, today I set up the home inspection for the new house and it takes place tomorrow morning. The I give the lender the green light to get the loan moving. I just found out today that since I am a disabled veteran I do not have to pay the 2% funding fee that the Veteran's Association normally charges for a VA loan ( freaking cool for me,,,,Yahoo). So, although this process is taking longer than I want, we should close on the house no later than April 17th. Then back home to pack all the crap up and move in.....

God, this is taking forever to happen and I am not a very patient man (as you all know). The closing is scheduled and it is all dependent on the lazy ass appraiser to get his butt out to the house. I just called my mortgage lender and lit a fire under his ass (with my usual tact and grace) to push on the appraiser a bit. I an getting well known here as that asshole from Massachusetts (they might as well get used to it).......

Being someone who has been on the bad side of you, I feel sorry for the appraiser lol.. Hope it all goes your way!

I figure that you all thought that I was dead and gone. We are still waiting for the VA appraisor to appraise the house for the VA. Once that is done we can close on the house and get this move going.
